About Us

Music Therapy Project, Inc.  is an initiative established by Elizabeth Balzano and Michael DeGrottole to promote music therapy and music as an interactive experience to address the needs of people with developmental disabilities.

Music Therapy Project specializes in the treatment of populations within the MRDD community that include residents of group homes, participants in day habilitation/day treatment programs, children and adults in after-school programs or weekend recreation/respite programs, and children in early intervention programs.

MTP provides experienced, trained and qualified music therapists to create programs for all people with varied disabilities ranging from Autism, ADHD, MRDD, and Speech/Language Disorders. Objectives and goals are person centered and groups are designed to promote awareness and development of both musical and social skills for all participants.

MTP also provides program support in the form of workshops, staff training, parent/staff presentations, and grant writing.
